Workshops (painting and drawing):

Next workshop is scheduled for the 4th weekend in Jan., 2012 (Sat., Jan. 28, 10 - 3 and Sun., Jan. 29, 1 - 5).   This   2 day workshop will explore color and composition in landscape painting.   Participants are invited to bring their own "resources" to work from (photographs, sketches, works in progess, etc. )

I will start off the Saturday session by giving a demonstration of my own process and will also show examples of other artists (both contemporary and from older periods of art history), who have painted unique landscapes.  Following this presentation, the group will spend the rest of the session painting.  On Sunday, we will convene to paint again.  A group critique will end this session.

Cost of the January workshop is $125 per person for both days.  Participants will furnish their own easils and other supplies.  Each session is for 4 hours.  Fees are payable in-full on the first day of the workshop and can not be pro-rated.   To ensure that everyone has fun, the workshop is limited to 8 participants.

My teaching style is geared toward sharing my process and experience with participants.  I welcome all experience levels.   My years of teaching and knowledge of art history will make this workshop fun and informative.  The goal is that everyone will enjoy themselves and will leave knowing more than they did coming in.  The  group critiques are intended to give feedback (something that all artists crave and need).   Please contact me at milestdo@bellsouth.net for more information.
